I'm looking for a HD videocamera with AV input. I also need to edit videos. What video camera can do all that?
I recently bought a mini helmet camera (520res) and wanted to record scenes from that. But It turns out that my existing miniDV camera doesn't have AV input, only AV output.
I'm a bit frustrated, as it means if I want to record my ideal scenes;, I need that minicamera, so I can get unique camera angles…
But looking at new video-cameras now, I wonder if it is worth investing in a HD camera? It's also *really* important that I am able to edit the recorded scenes proffessionally without a loss of quality. I'm not sure if HDD, DVD and flash cameras can offer that – please correct me if I'm wrong. I prefer to work with a non-lossy file format, such as avi.
Anyway, I want to edit the videos, and I currently have a windows XP system, which I believe is fast enough for waht I need. I'm not willing to upgrade to a whole new computer, as I'm on a fairly tight budget. But I'm guessing that it means at least upgrading the video software also (I'm using Pinnacle Studio 9).
